This was the second proposal I shot in the course of a month, and I don't mind one bit. I think proposals are fast becoming one of my favorite types of shoots. The unposed, unplanned moments and emotions are what real art is made out of. It's easy to disregard the hard midday light and the bare trees and dead-looking grass when I have two people so delightfully in love as John and Mary in front of my camera.

When John and Mary first started dating, they would often walk the trail in Wedgwood Park and sit on the bench at the end, and that's where he took her to ask her to walk the rest of their lives on the same path together. I love proposals like these--personal, simple, sentimental, and filled with love and joy.

Thanks to John for being a smart guy and thinking of hiring a photographer, thanks to the weather for letting this day be the one day that week it did not rain, and thanks to love for continuing to inspire me every day 🙂
